The Better Business Bureau serving Northern Indiana (BBB) established the annual Torch Award for Marketplace Trust program in 2006 to celebrate and publicly recognize for-profit companies and nonprofit organizations that maintain a solid commitment to ethical business practices, setting ethics, honesty and integrity as the standard for the way they do business. The recipients must meet certain criteria and they are selected by an independent committee separate from the BBB or its Board of Directors.
